My dear Salsa students just to let you know that I had no other option but to cancel my dance classes on Wednesdays at INKWELL ARTS until further notice due to the situation with the Corona Virus... 

​So as from Wednesday 18th March 2020 there will be no classes until further notice.....I will keep you posted....

Tanya Cusan-Espinosa of Cusan Theatre and Salsa Cusan

A Freelance  Independent performing artist working as an actor, dancer,puppeteer, teacher, choreographer, director and maker all over the country and abroad with a variety of directors and artists on individual projects and her own. 

Over 30 years teaching everyone of us...Emphasizing the power of dance in bringing people together.
Her work as Cusan Theatre and Salsa Cusan has introduced thousands of children and adults alike not only to dance and theatre but to her Latin American Culture and heritage.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLASSES
 
THE BEGINNERS CLASS - 6.45 - 7.45 pm
An introduction to the basic steps of salsa and merengue first without a partner and then with a partner.
You will learn how to do the basic steps on the spot with partners and also moving around with partners.
You will develop an understanding on how to move your body, body isolations and exercises to help you conquer this.
The classes are suitable for all levels and abilities, and you don't need a partner to join the classes.

 
IMPROVERS / INTERMEDIATE CLASS - 7.45- 8.45pm
Once you know how to move your body and the basic steps, I will take you on to another level.
The first half of this class will look at VOCABULARY OF STEPS how you move your basic steps in the space with a partner and developing a vocabulary of steps. (7.45 till 8.15)
The second half of the class TURNS will look at the principles of turning and you will learn the basic turns (8.15 till 8.45)
You will also develop your understanding of body movement and isolation so that you can dance to many styles and rhythms in the future.
 

INTERMEDIATE ADVANCED CLASS - 8.45 – 9.45pm
(I will let you know when you can move up to this class)

Please notice that from January to March 2020 I will be working with this group on developing and understanding of how
to move the body for the Kizomba dance.

During this class we will look at working in partners complex variations of TURNS – FAST FOOT WORK FROM CALI and other rhythms from South America such as, bachata, chachacha, cumbia, mambo and many others  to help you built a vocabulary of steps so that you can dance to any style anywhere in the future

All of the Classes are held at Inkwell Arts, 31 Potternewton Lane, Leeds, LS7 3LW with plenty of free parking at the venue.
