I was born and grew up in Colombia South America,my performing career has encompassed a variety of skills that range from dance theatre to singer, puppeteer and maker.
I trained initially in classical ballet with my mother at the Academia de Ballet Allegro and later join the Ballet Nacional de Colombia.
In 1985 I travelled to the UK to further my training as dancer and performer. I was offered a place at the NSCD in Leeds and in 1988 graduated with a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts.
I was co-founder and co-director of the Northern Dance Company.
Since 1988 I have been self employed and during this time I have performed as an actor, dancer, teacher, director, choreographer and puppeteer in my own and other companies such as The Northern Dance Company, Tutti-frutti Productions, Interplay Theatre, Heads Together, Northern Ballet Theatre, Stowe Opera, Lakeland Opera, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Academia de Ballet Allegro, Geraldine Connor, Cusan Theatre, Salsa Cusan and many more.
I have created and directed shows for the stage and street theatre, as well as running workshops in community and educational settings. I have experience of all of the admin involved in making the above happen, such as marketing, fund raising, managing and evaluating the projects.
Proficient in a wide variety of Dance/theatre and puppetry techniques.
Proven leadership qualities, communication and teaching skills.
Speak fluent Spanish and English.
